Oolong: Earl Grey Green Blend

Oolong: Earl Grey Green Blend

from 4.00

This Earl showcases every bit of the delicious bergamot qualities one would look for in a premium black Earl Grey tea. Where this Earl is different is the beautiful deep green wrapped (gently twisted) oolong leaves, which is the signature style of Bao Zhong (Pouchong).  It grows in Taiwan and is harvested mainly in the spring. Its rich fragrance of lilac and mild melon taste complement the flavor of bergamot to yield a delicious and unique Earl Grey blend.  This Oolong leans more to a green tea, partially because it has minimal oxidation.  Oolong leaves are larger which also contribute to its unique style, flavor and lower caffeine content.  Larger concentrations of caffeine can be greater in the younger, smaller tea leaves picked in summer because caffeine acts as a natural insect repellent to protect young growth.
